Plan Ahead for Festive Events in Downtown Courtenay This Weekend

Mark your calendars to be in downtown Courtenay on Sunday, November 22 for a flurry of events that will get you into the holiday spirit.
Many people are expected to head into downtown Courtenay on this day, so if you are planning on using your car to get to these events, please allow plenty of time to find parking. Better yet, walk, ride your bike, carpool, or take the bus!
Please note there will be road closures on 5th Street for the Christmas Parade from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm from Cliffe Avenue to Johnston Avenue. Cliffe Avenue between 4th and 5th Streets will also be closed from 2:00 to 3:00 pm for the parade. There will be no parking on these streets during the closures.
The Sid Williams Theatre is offering a free shuttle to patrons attending the Red Rock Diner musical. The shuttle will be running between the old Safeway parking lot (17th & Cliffe) and the Sid Williams Theatre from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm. If space is available, the shuttle will be open the general public as well.

Comox Valley Christmas Parade, 5th Street, 2 pm to 3 pm
5th Street comes alive for this popular annual event. This year’s theme is “A Nostalgic Christmas – Memories of Childhood”, with parade entries from numerous local businesses and organizations, plus a visit from Santa Claus! Presented by the Downtown Courtenay Business Improvement Association and event sponsors.
Sid Williams Theatre: Red Rock Diner, noon – 2 pm (tickets required for this event)
Enjoy a musical based on the rock ‘n’ roll scene in Vancouver in the 1950’s.
Fiesta World Craft Bazaar: Florence Filberg Centre, 10 am to 4 pm
Over 40 local and global organizations and businesses selling their fair trade products. The Bazaar runs both Saturday and Sunday. Check website for hours and full details.
Stagnhare Christmas Market (Facebook), Native Sons Hall, 10 am to 4 pm
Featuring local designers and artists.
