Celebrate Youth Week at The LINC Youth Centre

BC Youth Week is May 1–7 and The LINC Youth Centre invites Comox Valley youth to come and enjoy events throughout the week! Youth Week is an annual international event celebrating the value, diversity and positive contributions youth make in their communities.

All Youth Week events are at The LINC, 300 Old Island Highway, except where noted. Doors open at 3 p.m. for drop-in and Youth Week activities will begin shortly thereafter. 

Here’s a snapshot of the week’s events:

Friday, May 1: 

  • Skate and Scooter Competition (Ages 12-18) starting at 3:30 p.m. and there will be divisions by age and then an 'expert' level. And, Battle of the Bands – all ages 7:30 p.m. start. Free for youth to attend, $10 for adults (19+).
  • Register for Extreme Rec Night for 11 years and over (various locations) featuring archery tag, rock climbing, dodgeball, swimming, pizza snacks and more, $10, please pre-register at courtenay.ca/rec

Saturday, May 2: 

  • Gnarly Spring Craft Fair featuring youth vendors 9-19 years from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the Native Sons Hall, free admission. 
  • 2 for 1 drop-ins to The LINC ($2.50 entry for 2 people!)

Sunday, May 3: Family drop-in (all ages with caregiver) 4-7 p.m., $5 per family.

Monday, May 4th: Session16+ will be our regular pricing (youth over the age of 16 and adult skate). Youth $2.50 and adults $4.00.

Tuesday, May 5: Tween night dodgeball (ages 8-11 years). Youth drop-in $2.50.

Wednesday, May 6: Artist led event (ages 12-18 years). Youth drop-in $2.50.

Thursday, May 7: Final day wrap-up BBQ (ages 12-18 years). Youth drop-in $2.50.

“Youth Week is always one of the most exciting times at The LINC,” says Allie Parry, community youth development supervisor. “We’re rolling out free drop‑in, daily prizes, and plenty of swag all week long. If you haven’t checked out The LINC yet, this is the perfect chance to come see what we’re all about!”
