Canada Day Performers

Canada Day celebrations in Lewis Park feature two great headline acts, The Timebenders at the Night Before Concert and WWW (West Coast Chicago) on Canada Day.

The Night Before Concert in Lewis Park on Sunday, June 30 starts at 4 p.m. and includes Indigenous and multicultural performances. The Sean Grieve Committee performs at 6:45 p.m.

The Sean Grieve Committee is the brainchild of Comox Valley born Hammond Organist and keyboad player Sean Grieve. Playing in local bands like “The Valiants” and “Blues Report” while sill at GP Vanier, Sean furthered his musical studies at Vancouver Island University (Malispina) and went on to a career performing and recording with musicians across western Canada. The Committee is a six piece original band blending the musical styles of Blues, Gospel, Jazz, R&B and Rock with an all star lineup!

The Timebenders take the stage from 8 to 9:45 p.m.

Hailing from Victoria BC, The Timebenders are a very popular show band at festivals. With more than 15 amazing costume changes, uncanny celebrity impersonations and over 50 years of hits, their “Rock Down Memory Lane” is an explosive, interactive, high-energy show that will have everyone on the dance floor!

On Canada Day, performances start at 9 a.m. with the Comox Valley Concert Band at the Randy Wiwchar Plaza in front of the Sid Williams. At 11 a.m. Lyall Steel and Isabelle Durand perform in Lewis Park with classical creative guitar with beautiful arrangements sung in French, Spanish and English.

WCC (West Coast Chicago) performs from 1 to 2:30 pm in Lewis Park. WCC is a tribute band that celebrates the music of the legendary rock band Chicago. Chicago produced hits spanning classical, jazz, R&B, and pop genres. Their iconic songs include “25 or 6 to 4,” “Beginnings,” “Hard To Say I’m Sorry,” “Saturday In The Park”, and more. WCC captures the authentic sound of Chicago’s hits from 1969 to 1991, paying homage to this remarkable band. If you’re a fan of Chicago, this concert is a must-see!
