City Releases 2013 Annual Report
June 13, 2014
The City of Courtenay has released its 2013 Annual Report with highlights of the City’s activities throughout the year, as well as the audited financial statements.
“The annual report is an opportunity for our residents to learn about some of the many projects that occurred throughout our municipal operations.” explained Mayor Larry Jangula. “2013 was another busy year at the City, with several new initiatives and lots of ongoing activities.”
Major projects in 2013 included the completion of the Lewis Centre expansion and renovation, as well as the start of a multi-year asset management process – assessing the condition and remaining life of the City’s capital assets such as roads, water, sewer, storm drains, buildings, and fleet.
Annual Reports are required by the Province of B.C.’s Community Charter.
The report will be reviewed and adopted by City Council at the Committee of the Whole meeting on June 30. Council will also consider any submissions from the public at the meeting.
