Plant Native Species this Sunday with Morrison Creek Streamkeepers
November 14, 2014
Join the Morrison Creek Streamkeepers for a planting party at the corner of 1st Street and Willemar Avenue this Sunday, November 16 starting at 12:00 noon. The planting should only take a couple of hours, depending on how many people they have to help.
The Streamkeepers have many native plants to get into the ground while the weather co-operates. This will replace vegetation lost recently during sewer upgrades in the culvert that runs under Morrison Creek, as well as replanting areas that were recently covered by invasive species.
Please bring your own shovel if possible, although they will have some shovels at the site.
This promises to be a fun project with great benefits to the riparian area. It's also a good way to get to know your fellow streamkeepers while improving the neighbourhood.
