Road Work on 8th Street Postponed to Thursday October 9
October 7, 2014
Road work on 8th Street between Fitzgerald and England Avenues originally scheduled for Tuesday has been rescheduled for Thursday October 9, between 6:00 am and 12:00 noon. Crews will be working on a "grind and pave" road improvement project.
The work will result in single-lane alternating traffic. Traffic control personnel will be on hand to assist all commuters, including cyclists. Please use caution and obey traffic control personnel.
Commuters should expect delays in the area of construction, and are requested to use an alternate route if possible.
There will be noise generated by the crew and equipment during construction. We appreciate your understanding and apologize for any inconvenience.
What is “grind and pave”?
“Grind and pave” is a method of repair for road cracks and rough pavement. The top surface layer of pavement is ground up and replaced.
