Disaster Financial Assistance (DFA) for Overland Flooding and Landslide Damage

MESSAGE FROM EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT BC:
Major flooding on Vancouver Island from November 3, 2016 to November 14, 2016 has caused property and content damages. As a result of the damages sustained from this event, provincial Disaster Financial Assistance (DFA) has been authorized for qualifying claimants, such as home owners, residential tenants, small business owners, farmers, charitable organizations and local government bodies, who were unable to obtain insurance to cover these disaster-related losses.
Disaster Financial Assistance has been authorized for the following areas:
- Alberni/Clayoquot Regional District
- City of Port Alberni
- Tseshaht First Nation
- Strathcona Regional District
- City of Campbell River
- Mount Waddington Regional District
- Town of Port McNeill
- Comox Valley Regional District
- City of Courtenay
- Wuikinuxv First Nation (Oweekeno)

The 90-day deadline for applications is February 14, 2017.
