Recycle Your Christmas Tree

Wondering what to do with your Christmas tree once the holidays are over? There are a couple of options.
 

City of Courtenay households serviced by the Yard Waste Program (single family dwellings and duplexes) can leave their trees at the curb for pickup on the same day as regular weekly garbage/yard waste collection. Please cut the tree in half and remove all decorations and tinsel. 

Also, the Courtenay Fire Department is offering their annual Christmas Tree Collection and Chipping event on Saturday and Sunday, January 6 and 7, 2018 from 10 am to 4 pm. Drop off your tree at the following locations with a minimum $5 donation:

  • Courtenay Fire Hall, 650 Cumberland Road
  • Crown Isle Plaza, 444 Lerwick Road in front of Thrifty Foods

For a minimum $5 donation, you can also arrange for the Fire Department to pick up your tree! All proceeds from the Christmas Tree Chipping event will go to local charities and youth sport groups. Call 250-334-2513 for more information.
