Is your Courtenay recycling, garbage & yard waste currently picked up on FRIDAYS?

The City of Courtenay’s garbage contractor, Emterra, will not be operating on Christmas Day, Friday December 25. Your curbside recycling, garbage, and yard waste will be collected on Saturday, December 26, 2020.

Christmas Tree Recycling

Christmas trees (cut in half) will be collected at the curb through the Yard Waste program.

Chip your Tree for  Good Cause!
The annual Courtenay Fire Department Christmas Tree Chipping fundraising drive is happening on Saturday, January 2 and Sunday, January 3, 2021, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., with COVID-19 safety protocols in place.

Two locations

• Courtenay Fire Hall, 650 Cumberland Rd
• Thrifty Foods — Crown Isle

$5 minimum donation with all proceeds to local charities and youth sports groups. COVID safety plan in place. To pre-order home pickup, please call 250-334-2513.
