Water Restrictions Start May 1
April 25, 2022
Via the Comox Valley Regional District:
The Comox Valley Water System will be under Stage 1 water restrictions beginning May 1, 2022, which come into effect every year at this time.
Under Stage 1, lawn and garden sprinkling is permitted between the hours of 5 am - 8 am and 7 pm -10 pm, on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday for even numbered addresses and Wednesday, Friday and Sunday for odd numbered addresses.
The Comox Valley Water System moves to Stage 1 restrictions on May 1 each year. Not only is this the right thing to do from a conservation perspective but it also helps prepare for the shift to Stage 2 when lake levels begin to decrease and BC Hydro adjusts the Puntledge River water flows. The CVRD's water license requires that water restrictions are tied to these flows.
The Comox Valley Water System includes the Town of Comox, City of Courtenay, and the Comox Valley Water Local Service Area. Residents are encouraged to download the summer watering schedule from www.comoxvalleyrd.ca/restrictions.
The Comox Valley Regional District is a federation of three electoral areas and three municipalities operating on the unceded traditional territory of the K’ómoks First Nation, the traditional keepers of the land. The members of the regional district work collaboratively on providing sustainable services for the benefit of the diverse urban and rural areas of the Comox Valley.
