Outstanding Property Tax Deadline
The deadline to pay your property taxes, or pay user fees related to Property Tax Deferment, is Friday, December 31, 2023 at 4:30 p.m. After that date, 10.20%* interest begins to accrue. The deadline to defer your property taxes through the Province of B.C. is midnight on December 31.
*The above rates are based on the prime lending rate of the principal banker to the Province of British Columbia which, at September 15, 2023, was 7.20%; i.e., the interest rate on taxes in arrears or delinquent is 3.00% above the prime lending rate as of the 15th of the month preceding the effective dates.
Home Owner Grant Deadline
You may claim your 2023 home owner grant online until midnight on December 31. If you have not yet claimed a home owner grant for 2022, you may do so retroactively online until midnight on December 31. Per Provincial Legislation, unclaimed home owner grants are considered unpaid taxes and are subject to interest after December 31, 2023.
Claim your grant directly through the Province of B.C.: gov.bc.ca/homeownergrant
