A heat warning has been issued for East Vancouver Island - including Comox Valley - for August 13-17, 2023. For more information on cooling spaces available in the region, please visit the Comox Valley Regional District Heat Safety page.

In the City of Courtenay, cooling options include:

• Florence Filberg Centre (2nd floor, 411 Anderton Ave)
  Mon to Fri: 12pm-8pm
  Half of the conference room
• Lewis Park splash park - Rotary Water Park (489 Old Island Hwy, Courtenay). Extended hours: 9am-8pm during heat warnings
• Courtenay & District Memorial Outdoor Pool (489 Old Island Hwy) - free public admission
• VI Library (300 6th St, Courtenay) - Mon-Sun: hours vary
