Fire Ban for Courtenay and Fire Protection District

Effective at noon Pacific Daylight Time on Thursday, June 8th 2023, all Campfires, Category 2 and Category 3 open fires will be prohibited throughout the City of Courtenay and Courtenay Fire Protection District. This prohibition is being enacted to help reduce wildfire risk and protect public safety. This prohibition will be in place until October 31, 2023, or until the order is rescinded.

Open burning is banned year-round in the City of Courtenay.
