Fire Ban for Courtenay and Fire Protection District

July 11, 2024

As a result of a campfire ban issued by BC Wildfire Service, the Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) and its surrounding partner agencies will be issuing the same campfire ban effective Friday, July 12, 2024 at 12:00 noon Pacific Daylight Time.

Campfires will be prohibited throughout the Coastal Fire Centre’s jurisdiction, including all provincial parks, crown land, and private property. This prohibition is being issued to help reduce wildfire risk and protect public safety.

Open burning is banned year-round in the City of Courtenay.
