Postal Service Disruption: Impacts from the Canada Post Strike
December 11, 2024
The City’s mail services have been temporarily disrupted due to the Canada Post Strike. Even though mail service has resumed, delays in processing are anticipated due to the backlog of mail. This will affect the delivery of water utility invoices, business licences and notices, payments and other documents.
To avoid late fees, interest charges or penalties, we are encouraging account holders to use alternative methods to make payments on time.
We advise residents and businesses to connect with the City to request invoices to be reprinted or emailed to find out your balance owing. Third quarter water utility invoices were due on December 18, 2024.
The financial service department is available to assist you with your inquiries by email at finance@courtenay.ca, by phone at 250-334-4441, or in-person at City Hall (830 Cliffe Ave), Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Alternative methods of payments:
- Online Banking
- Go to Pay Bills
- Select Add Payee
- Type Courtenay in the search field and click Search
- Select the Payee Name that relates to either Courtenay Taxes or Courtenay Utilities.
