Resident Survey, Your Courtenay, Your Voice – 2024 Results
This report presented the key findings of the 2024 resident satisfaction telephone survey. Survey results and analysis focus on trend changes compared to the 2023 baseline. The survey gathered feedback on a range of categories including quality of life, value for tax dollars, satisfaction with services provided by the City and City staff, communication and engagement, sense of belonging and a welcoming community.

Youth Climate Corps Pilot Program
The Youth Climate Corps BC is an organization that aims to empower youth to take actions that address the climate crisis. It provides paid work and training to young people aged 17-30 to complete climate action projects in their communities. Council directed staff to collaborate with Youth Climate Corps BC to establish a pilot program in 2025 to support climate action in the community and empower local youth.
CleanBC Organics Funding Program
The Province has recently launched the CleanBC Organics Funding Program (OFP), an application-based grant program to help keep organic waste out of landfills and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Council directed staff to apply. If the grant application is successful, the City could be reimbursed for 66% of the approximately $1.5M of eligible costs for organics collection.

Sports Field Allocation Policy Project Update
Over the past year, City staff in collaboration with local municipalities, the CVRD, and SD71 have worked together to develop a scope of work to advance the development and implementation of a regional sports field allocation policy. The scope includes review of fees and charges, including consideration of implementation of youth minor sport fees, for consistent application throughout the Comox Valley. Work on the policy project is anticipated to be completed by January 2026.

Delegation Follow up - Comox Valley Masters Soccer Club - Timberframe Pavilion Partnership Proposal
A Timberframe Pavilion is being considered in partnership with the Comox Valley Masters Soccer Club.
Council directed staff to consider the location for the proposed Timberframe Pavilion through the Woodcote Park Playground Upgrade design process, and that the City contribute up to $30,000 towards the project through Partners In Parks funding, subject to the Comox Valley Masters Soccer Club agreeing to the location of the proposed Timberframe pavilion through the Woodcote Park Playground Replacement Design process.
