Volunteers are important and valued members of our team. We depend on volunteers to help us carry out many of the recreation programs and services that we offer to our community.

Ready to lend a hand? Turn your spare time into social good! Spend a few hours, days or weeks with Courtenay Recreation, and help us build a strong, happy and healthy community.

Volunteer opportunities
We have numerous opportunities for adults and youth (12 years and older). Volunteers are needed to assist in the following areas:
- Early Years programs
- Children's programs
- Arts and crafts, sports
- The LINC Youth Centre
- Childminding
- Summer daycamps
- Adapted Programs
- Special events and more!
Earn grad credits, gain valuable work skills and give back to your community! If you have one, two or several hours a week to volunteer or just want to help with a special event, we have something for you.

Call Courtenay Recreation at 250-338-5371 or 250-338-1000 and complete a volunteer application form. We will call you to set up a short interview and, together, we will find a placement that meets both our needs.
Adults will be required to have a criminal record check (free for volunteers) prior to your placement.
