Administration/Clerical/Receptionist – example qualifications
- 1 year post-secondary Business Technology or Administration or related discipline from a recognized educational institution
- current Criminal Record Clearance
- experience in office administration, reception, and cash-handling

some jobs may require additional experience in bookkeeping, marketing and/or desktop publishing
- Based upon specific job, other qualifications may include:
- current First Aid Emergency Level - Industry and CPR Level C
- specialized courses in creative writing and desktop publishing
Gardener 1 – example qualifications
- Grade 12
- valid BC Class 5 Drivers License
- current Pesticide Applicators Certificate OR BCWWA Cross Connection Control Testers Certificate
- experience in sports turf, horticulture, OR irrigation practices relating to the construction and maintenance of landscaped areas such as parks, boulevards, walkways, and sports fields, etc.; construction/handyman work; the safe operation of equipment such as self-propelled mowers, tractors, loaders, turf vac sweepers, etc.
Custodian – example qualifications
- Grade 12
- Building Service Worker 1 certificate
- valid BC Class 5 Drivers License
- current Criminal Record Clearance
- hazardous materials information system training
- current First Aid Emergency Level - Industry and CPR Level C
- experience in custodial work and building maintenance, and the safe operation of related equipment and hand tools
Building Inspector 1 – example qualifications
- Grade 12 education supplemented by a journeyman level certification in carpentry OR diploma in civil and structural engineering technology or other relevant discipline, from a recognized educational institution.
- current BC Building Inspectors Level 1 Certificate
- valid BC Class 5 Drivers License
- current Criminal Record Clearance
- eligible for Building Officials Association of BC membership
- eligible for Plumbing Inspectors Assoc. of BC membership
- considerable building construction and/or building inspection experience for a local government
Engineering Technologist – example qualifications
- Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology from a recognized educational institution, or equivalent academic training and experience
- valid BC Class 5 Drivers License
- current Criminal Record Clearance
- eligible for membership in Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of BC with the designation of AScT.
- considerable experience in civil/municipal engineering field
- sound experience in the use of engineering application software, for example: AutoCAD, GIS, and survey instruments
