Halloween Parade & Party
Get on your broomstick and follow the witches and black cats to the annual Courtenay Halloween Parade and Party on Thursday, October 31. This annual event is put on by Courtenay Recreation in partnership with the Downtown Courtenay Business Improvement Association (DCBIA).
Begin in Downtown Courtenay at 4 p.m. for the Trick or Treat Parade at businesses on 4th, 5th and 6th streets. Then make your way to the Lewis Centre (489 Old Island Highway)for the Halloween party, 5–7 p.m., and enjoy carnival games, arts and crafts, a photo booth and treats. Admission is free.
Finish with some spooky fun at the LINC Youth Centre’s Haunted House (300 Old Island Highway), open 6–8 p.m. On Halloween night, Half the Fright Night will be offered, which is geared towards younger children and those who are more easily frightened. Admission is $2/person or $5/family. More info can be found here.
Drivers, please be patient and alert while hundreds of small, costumed characters walk around Downtown Courtenay.
