Hydrant Use Permit

Contractors wishing to access a City of Courtenay fire hydrant for temporary construction purposes will need to fill out a Hydrant Use Permit Application.

Permit applications are accepted at the Public Works Yard office at 1000 Piercy Avenue or by email at publicworks@courtenay.ca . Office hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.

The City requires 72 hours to process and approve applications. Permits are valid for 20 business days.

A hydrant servicing fee will be due upon permit approval. Invoicing for water usage will be issued after the project is completed. Full details and permit conditions are included on the permit application.
