Road Permits
A road permit is required for any construction and related works on City of Courtenay public land. This includes:
- Closing a roadway, trail or park for construction.
- Blocking sections of a sidewalk to work on private property.
What you need to apply
Top get approval, you must provide a:
- Traffic Control Plan following the Ministry of Transportation and Transit's 2020 Traffic Manual for Work on Roadways (TMM) showing how pedestrian and vehicle traffic will be managed.
- WorkSafe BC clearance letter.
- BC One Call ticket number (if excavation is required).
- Valid business licence.
- Certificate of insurance with
- $5 million in liability coverage.
- City of Courtenay listed as an additional insured.
- 30-day Notice of Cancellation clause.
- Completed and signed road permit application form [PDF - 382 KB.
- $100 permit fee paid in full.
