Home Heating Rebates
Keeping your home warm without burning wood will improve air quality inside and outside of your home. Even the highest standard of wood stove used with the best practices releases much more fine particulate matter than all other heating sources (see graphic below).
Rebates
Rebates for replacing wood-burning appliances are offered by a number of agencies including Clean BC, BC Hydro and Fortis BC. One or more of these rebates may be suitable for you and your home. Rebates can be combined, saving thousands on home energy upgrades, or the installation of a new home heating appliance!
- The CleanBC Better Homes and Home Renovation Rebate Programs, administered by BC Hydro, FortisBC and the Province of BC offers rebates for renovations that save energy and lower greenhouse gases. Learn more here: https://www.betterhomesbc.ca/
- The CVRD offers rebates for exchanging woodstoves for a heat pump through the Wood Smoke Reduction Program. More info here: https://www.comoxvalleyrd.ca/projects-initiatives/past-current-projects/wood-smoke-reduction-program
Home Energy Navigator Program
