BC Housing: 925 Braidwood Road

BC Housing has purchased a three-acre property at 925 Braidwood Road in Courtenay for a proposed supportive housing development as well as a permanent, purpose-built shelter.

BC Housing is initiating discussions with City staff to discuss development plans which will inform the rezoning application and the development approval schedule. Once this meeting has occurred a general timeline can be identified.

As part of BC Housing’s approach to developing purpose-built shelter and supportive housing they will inform and engage with the community on the proposed development and its operations. They will also seek a non-profit operator for supportive housing units and shelter through a BC Housing-led process.

Zoning Amendment Bylaw No.3154

Council will consider 1st, 2nd and 3rd reading of Zoning Amendment Bylaw No.3154 for 925 Braidwood Road at the August 28, 2024 regular Council meeting at 4pm. For more information,  visit Current Development Applications.
